Since online personal music databases are all the rage, I should probably take the opportunity to plug a quite righteous site called The Art of the Mix. In a somewhat similar mold to skivsamling, you can submit the tracklistings of your mix-tapes or mix-cd's into an equally searchable database. Check it out! Bren2:42 AM
A few obscure to semi-obscure to fairly-well-known-in-the-hip-crowd bands worth checking out
The Shins. Sloan meets the Lilys with a dash of Beachwood Sparks.
Sloan. Canadian alt rock with a mild twang.
The Lilys. Blatant Kinks devotees with a 90s twist.
Beachwood Sparks. American alt rock with a major twang and a teaspoon of the Beach Boys, and a female co-vocalist.
The Jellyfish. Queen meets the Beatles with a mililitre of the Partridge Family.
The Sugarplastic. I only know of one of their albums. XTC cut in half.
XTC. I've ranted about them before.
The High Llamas. The Beach Boys on even more drugs.
Ben Kweller. One of the many Bens available to swoon over. He's my age, for god's sake.
Radiohead. Just kidding. Rebecca C. Brown5:45 PM
